Trails of Hope was founded in 2006 by Sam and Kim Hofelich.
We operate as a 501 (c) 3 charity. Open from March-December Trails of Hope serves individuals with special needs, at-risk youth, and individuals facing addictions.
Trails of Hope has an indoor and outdoor riding arena. Our sessions consist of a theme session each week conducted by a Certified NARHA Riding Instructor.
Our barn provides a totally new environment that provides stimulating and exciting interaction. The equine assisted activities offer the opportunity to be in control of one's mobility. The horse's movement will facilitate activation of postural control, balance, and motor and sensory systems.
Because movement is so closely linked to other functions, the participant will likely experience other systemic changes such as those that involve levels of arousal, cognitive function, mood or behavior response.
Equine activities allow people with a special need to be able to join with or successfully compete with those who have a different physical function.
